Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Sampson Supplies Offense For W Soccer

Jenna Sampson gave Hamline an early lead but St. Olaf came back to claim a MIAC women's soccer decision, 4-1, at Paterson Field Tuesday afternoon.

Sampson, a senior, drilled a direct kick through a screen to give Hu a 1-0 lead 18:21 into the game.

The Oles, however, came back with a pair of goals before halftime and added two more in the second half to claim the decision. Sampson and Anna Browne had two shots apiece for the Pipers

Melanie Hopkins had eight saves in goal for HU, which fell to 2-3-0 overall, 1-1-0 in the MIAC.

Hamline will be busy this weekend. HU plays at St. Benedict on Saturday, September 20 and then returns to Paterson the next afternoon to host Minnesota-Morris. Game time for the latter is 2:00 p.m.
