The Hamline men's soccer team pushed St. Olaf to the limit but a two goal deficit was too much to handle.
Stefan Kinsinger (pictured) scored with 10 minutes to play for the lone Hamline goal in a 2-1 loss in the conference opener for both teams at Paterson Field Wednesday.
Kinsinger headed in a
Jack Reddan feed to cut a 2-0 Ole lead in half. The Pipers pressed the rest of the way but could not get the equalizer and fell to 2-3 overall.
Malachy Zamacona recorded eight saves, a couple of which were acrobatic leaps in the Piper net.
Logan Weller led the 12 shot Piper attack with three attempts while
Jake Sullivan and
Adam King added two apiece.
Hamline now heads on the road for the next three games. First up: a visit to Collegeville this Saturday, September 21 to face St. John's. Game time is 4:00 p.m.
