Theo Salzberg etched his name in the NCAA scoring column and
Logan Weller added his sixth of the season for the men's soccer team in a 7-2 loss at St. John's Saturday.
Salzberg, a sophomore, converted an
Adam King feed to get HU on the board with 11 seconds to play in the first half. Unfortunately, the Pipers were trailing 4-0 at the time. Weller, the team leader in tallies, pursued his own rebound for his second half marker. The sophomore is tied for second among all MIAC markers in goals.
King is now tied for third place all-time in school history with 58 points on 19 goals and 20 assists. The latter number is the school career record.
Malachy Zamacona had three saves in 70:25 of action.
Yonis Egal played the last 19:35, recording a save and allowing a goal. The Pipers are 2-4 overall, 0-2 in the MIAC. They get back on the field in prime time on Wednesday, September 25 with a non-conference matchup at Northwestern in Roseville, Minn. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
