Stefan Kinsinger has a knack for getting goals when his team really needs one. Such was the case Saturday when the senior broke a 2-all tie with 9:30 to play to lift the Piper men's soccer team to a key 3-2 win at Bethel.
Jake Sullivan, who assisted on Kinsinger's goal, tallied as did
Ryan Pyle for Hamline, which earned its first conference win in three tries and improved to 3-4-1 overall.
The Pipers had to rally twice in this game. The Royals struck first in the 10th minute. Sullivan evened matters with his first goal on a pass from
Lay Wah.
It was 1-1 at halftime but it didn 't stay away for long in the second. Just 37 seconds in, BU regained the lead. 10 minutes later, Pyle evened things for a second with a header that was set up by Sullivan and Kinsinger. Then Kinsinger converted the winner at 80:30.
Malachy Zamacona had two saves in goal for HU to earn the win.
The Pipers return to Paterson on Tuesday, October 1 to tangle with Carleton (8-1, 2-0 MIAC). Game time is 4:00 p.m.
