STEVENS POINT, Wis. - First year forward
Jackson Bond tallied his sixth multi-point game of the year for the Hamline men's hockey team, as he scored both goals in the team's 5-2 loss to UW-Stevens Point on Friday night.

The Roseville, Minn. native is having an impressive rookie season, as he leads the MIAC in both points (19) and goals (9) so far this year. He has scored in seven different games for the Pipers, including scoring two goals in four different contests.

In tonight's game, the Pointers got on the board in the first period, scoring six minutes into the game. HU goalie
Sam Nelson made 17 saves in the first frame, helping to keep the game within one heading into the second period.

UW-Stevens Point had a big second period, however, scoring three times. Bond scored at 8:43 in the period, which made the score 2-1, but the Pointers scored two more times before the period was over to take a 4-1 lead into the final 20 minutes of play. Two of their goals were scored on power plays.

The Pointers scored early in the third period to stretch their lead to 5-1, but Bond answered with his second unassisted goal of the night, only minutes later. HU was unable to score again, making the final 5-2.

Nelson finished with 38 saves on the night, which is his seventh game this season (out of 11 appearances) that he has made 30 saves or more. He has 356 total saves on the season.

UW-Stevens Point was led offensively by Carter Roo, who ended with a hat trick, getting the team's first three goals.
