BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - The Hamline women's tennis team opened their conference season on Saturday, falling 9-0 to St. Olaf at the Life Time Fitness courts in Bloomington.

Tessa Rugg and
Megan Anderson fell to Sabrina Barboza and Allie Prokosch in the No. 1 slot 8-2. In No. 2 doubles, junior
Janie Schwartz and sophomore
Yee Thao took three games off their opponents, ultimately falling 8-3.

Junior
Bae Wa, playing at No. 5 singles, was the only Piper to force a third set with her opponent. Wa lost the first set 3-6, but rallied to win the second set 6-4. In the tiebreaker set, Wa's opponent took the match with a 10-4 win.

Rugg played at No. 1 singles, falling in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0. Anderson took a game off her opponent in each set but also fell in two. Thao played in the No. 3 singles spot, with her opponent, Emily Otteson, winning 6-2, 6-0. Schwartz, at No. 4 singles, was defeated 1-6, 0-6.

The Pipers will look to bounce back on Saturday, February 22 as they take on St. Thomas at 4:00 p.m. at the Bloomington Life Time Fitness. Â
