Senior Spotlight: Tori Baird

Despite having their seasons cut short, the Hamline athletic department would like to recognize and honor the 2020 senior spring class of student-athletes. These 37 individuals have made a lasting impact on their program and the Hamline campus as a whole. Tori Baird   |   Lacrosse   |   Marketing Major
Tori Baird has been a four-year contributor to the Hamline lacrosse defense, helping her team to two regular season conference championships, three MWLC tournament championships, three NCAA tournament appearances, and the program's first-ever win in the NCAA tournament. Baird has played in 60 career games, making 46 starts during her four years. She has compiled 88 ground balls and 63 caused turnovers throughout her career, earning All-Conference Honorable Mention honors in 2018 and All-Conference Second Team honors in 2019. During her junior season, Baird recorded 29 caused turnovers, which ranked tied for second-most on the team. On campus, she is also involved with the Student Alumni Board.
 
What were you most looking forward to for this spring season?
I was looking forward to spending time with my amazing teammates and seeing what we could have accomplished this year.    
 
What is one of your favorite memories of your time at Hamline?
My favorite memories are all of the road trips to games and hotel stays with the team.
 
Who is someone that has had a positive impact on you during your time as a student-athlete?
Coach Hartman
 
What is your advice for your younger teammates?
Prepare for each game like it could be your last, all the hard work will pay off.
 
What are you most proud of about your career as a student-athlete?
I am most proud of all of the hard work my teammates and I have put in to get where we are as individuals and as a team.
