Pipers Take Down Carleton in the Final Minutes

SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University women's soccer team defeated Carleton in dramatic fashion at Pat Paterson Field on Tuesday, as Emily Hillis's goal in the 88th minute was enough to secure her team a 1-0 victory.

The Pipers improve to 6-5-1, 2-4-1 MIAC while Carleton falls to 7-3-2, 4-3-0 MIAC.

The Knights held a 28-4 advantage in shots, but it was Hamline goalkeeper Lauren Sicora who kept them scoreless with a season-high 14 saves. A botched clearing attempt by Carleton found Emily Hillis, who put a shot home from 32 yards out in the 88th minute that gave Hamline a 1-0 lead.

Knights goalkeeper Keya Mookencherry made one save in a complete-game effort.

The Pipers will return to action on Saturday, October 16 at St. Benedict. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.
