The Pipers never trailed in set one, much thanks to an 11-1 run in the middle stages that secured them a 25-14 victory. The second set resulted in an 18-13 lead for the Falcons before their four errors engineered a Hamline 6-0 run that quickly put them in the driver's seat at 19-18. The Falcons would lead again at 22-21 and 23-22 before a pair of Rachel Rettmann kills highlighted Hamline's 4-1 run to end the match, which sealed them a 26-24 win.

Deja vù played a role in set three as Hamline found themselves in another 18-13 deficit. After trailing a majority of the set, the Pipers regained the lead for good at 24-23 thanks to Rettmann's ace. A Falcons error gave Hamline a 25-23 victory.

Rettmann was all over the stat sheet with 10 kills and three service aces for Hamline. Sydney Larson also contributed a team-leading 10 kills, while Megan Rubbelke set them up with 27 assists. Jenna Rubbelke posted a team-best 11 digs for the Pipers, who hit .254 against UW-River Falls' .188 mark

Hamline will face St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota on Friday, October 15 at 7:00 p.m.
