COLLEGEVILLE, MINN—The Hamline University men's soccer team embarked on a rare Sunday-afternoon affair at Saint John's University. The Pipers fell in the final minute as Ryan Erickson's goal with :29 left in regulation gave the Johnnies a 2-1 victory.
The Pipers fall to 2-10-2, 0-5-2 MIAC while Saint John's improves to 7-5-1, 4-3-0 MIAC.

The Johnnies registered early, and late-game tallies that was enough to secure them the result. Kaiden Popp did the honors with a double-assist goal from Drew Engel and Tommy Pick in the 12th minute that gave Saint John's a 1-0 edge, where things stayed until halftime. Alex Rouse knotted the contest at 1-1 with his second goal of the season for the Pipers, off a feed from Logan Weller in the 63rd minute.
Saint John's controlled the tempo over the final 5:00 of the contest, as they outshot Hamline 4-0 and were awarded four corner kicks over that time. They saved the best for last courtesy of Ryan Erickson's goal with :29 on the clock that gave Saint John's a 2-1 victory.
The Johnnies outshot Hamline 23-10. Hamline goalkeeper Luke Rimington made eight saves in a complete-game effort, while Evan Siefken notched three over 90:00 for Saint John's.
Hamline will host Saint Mary's (Minn.) at Pat Paterson Field on Saturday, October 23 at 12:30 p.m.
