SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University men's soccer team hosted Macalester College at Pat Paterson Field for their homecoming game on Saturday afternoon. The Pipers found themselves on the wrong end of a 2-0 score against the Scots.
The Pipers fall to 2-7-1, 0-3-1 MIAC while Macalester improves to 6-5, 3-2 MIAC.
Macalester 2, Hamline 0
The Pipers registered all four of their shots in the second half, but it was Macalester that tallied both of their goals in the final minutes of the contest. Hans Haenicke's goal in the 83rd minute gave Macalester a 1-0 lead, followed by Branko Sciortino's tally in the final seconds of the match that made the score 2-0.
Macaletser outshot Hamline 18-4.
Luke Rimington made two saves in a complete-game effort for the Pipers, while Cade Fink registered four saves for Macalester.
The Pipers will face Wartburg in a road match on Tuesday, October 5 at 7:30 p.m.
