SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University women's soccer team welcomed St. Mary's University (Minn.) to Pat Paterson Field for Senior Day on Saturday. Cailey Schmitt's strike from 25-yards out in the 54th minute was high enough to beat Cardinals goalkeeper Madison Mora, which made the score 1-0.
The Pipers improve to 7-6-1, 3-5-1 MIAC while St. Mary's (Minn.) falls to 12-3-1, 6-2-1 MIAC.
Seniors Hannah Schatz, and team manager Zoe Nawrot were honored prior to the game.

Schmitt's tally in the 54th minute was her fourth of the season, and first game-winner of 2021.
The Cardinals outshot Hamline 24-4. Lauren Sicora registered her sixth shutout of the season with 13 saves over 90:00 of action in goal for the Pipers, while Madison Mora made just one save in a complete-game effort for St. Mary's (Minn.).
The Pipers will embark on their final home contest of 2021 on Wednesday, October 27 against Gustavus Adolphus College at 3:30 p.m.
