SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University volleyball team remains in a three-way tie for first place in the MIAC after a 3-0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-8) victory at Macalester on Saturday night. The Pipers now carry a six-match win streak.
The Pipers improve to 18-5, 8-1 MIAC while Macalester falls to 13-9, 4-5 MIAC.
Hamline 3, Macalester 0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-8)
Sydney Larson erupted for the Pipers once again as she tallied over half of her team's kills with 19 on a lethal .350 hitting percentage, and tied for a team-leading four blocks. Julianna Boyum was a multi-dimensional player for Hamline as she tied for a team-leading four blocks along with an efficient .600 hitting percentage on seven kills. Larson and Boyum engineered a Pipers offense that hit .363 on 37 kills compared to Macalester's dismal .092 figure on 29 kills.
Megan Rubbelke registered a team-leading 11 digs, and set up the offense with 30 assists.
The Pipers will travel to UW-Eau Claire on Tuesday, October 26 for a 7:00 p.m. match.
