MINNEAPOLIS, MINN.—The Hamline University men's hockey team made the trip to No. 5 Augsburg in the back-end of the home-and-home series on Saturday night. The Pipers dropped a 5-2 decision to the Auggies.
Hamline falls to 2-8, 0-4 MIAC, while Augsburg improves to 9-1, 5-1 MIAC.

The Auggies jumped to a 5-0 lead at the second intermission, before Hamline weathered the storm with a pair of third-period goals courtesy of Isaac Baron at 12:06 of the frame, and Carson Simon at 16:11. Simon finished with a two-point night as he assisted on Baron's goal. Erik Dahl was credited was the helper on Simon's goal.
Augsburg outshot Hamline 39-19.
Pipers goalie Bryce Uebel made his first start of the season, and finished with 34 saves. Jack Robbel stopped 17 shots in the complete-game victory in net for Augsburg. Sixteen penalties were called in the contest, as each side committed eight infractions.
The Pipers will travel to St. Olaf for a non-conference tilt on Friday, December 31 for a 5 p.m. game.
