Pipers Finish Day One of Macalester Roger Ahlman Invite

SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University swimming & diving teams embarked on day one of the Macalester College Roger Ahlman Invite on Friday night. The Pipers women sit in third place out of five teams with 99 points, while the men are in third place out of three teams with 89 points. Macalester leads the women's (271 points), and men's (249 points) fields after day one.

George Hubbard commanded the Pipers men with a first-place time of 21.52 in the 50 yard freestyle. Quinn Doan was dominate in the 200 yard individual medley with a third-place time of 2:02.64. Nathan Steeves was effective in the 1650 freestyle with a second-place time of 19:11.44.

The women's 1650 freestyle saw Lilah Fischer cross the finish line at 21:34.40, good enough for fourth place. Sila Yurttas kept the fourth-place trend going with a 2:22.57 in the 200 yard individual medley, while Sarah Wood trailed her in sixth place with a 2:27.15.

The Pipers will compete on day two of the Macalester Roger Ahlman Invite tomorrow, Saturday, December 4 at 11 a.m. / 5 p.m.
