DULUTH, MINN.—The Hamline University men's hockey team faced St. Scholastica on the back-end of a home-and-home series in Duluth, Minnesota on Saturday. The Pipers found themselves in a 6-2 hole late in the second period, and dug themselves out of that deficit with three unanswered goals before time ran out in a 6-5 loss to the Saints.
The Pipers fall to 2-6, 0-2 MIAC, while St. Scholastica improves to 6-4, 3-3 MIAC.

All 11 goals scored in the contest came from a different player.
The Pipers held leads of 1-0, and 2-1 behind goals from Andrew Erwin and Dallas Duckson. Duckson's power-play tally made things 2-1 at 16:29 of the first period. St. Scholastica controlled things until the game's midpoint as their 12-3 edge in shots highlighted their five goal run that gave them a 6-2 lead at 10:57 of the second period.
The Pipers out shot St. Scholastica 12-11 from that point through the game's conclusion, which resulted in three goals courtesy of Carson Simon, Brendan Sheehan, and Bailey Sommers that cut their deficit to 6-5 at the 9:18 mark of the third.
Each side tallied one power-play goal, while St. Scholastica converted one short-handed tally. St. Scholastica out shot Hamline 31-23. Derek Becklin had two assists for Hamline.
Kevin Lake made 25 saves in the complete-game goaltending loss for Hamline, while Jack Bostedt stopped 18 shots for St. Scholastica.
The Pipers will host Augsburg at TRIA Rink on Friday, December 10 at 7:00 p.m.
