WINONA, Minn. - The Hamline men's tennis team (1-1) opened the MIAC portion of their season on Saturday night, falling to Saint Mary's (3-2, 1-2 MIAC) 6-3 in Winona. The Pipers picked up wins in No. 1 and No. 2 singles, and No. 2 doubles on the night.

Tou Ger Xiong was involved in two of those wins, winning 6-3, 6-4 in No. 1 singles against Brandon Kurilla while also teaming up with first year
Isaac Hultberg to win 8-6 in No. 2 doubles. Hultberg battled in his singles match in the No. 3 spot, falling in the tie-breaker set (6-7, 6-3, 5-10).

Nazeer Robinson added another singles win to the start of his senior season, defeating Evan Huemoeller 7-5, 3-6, 10-6 at No. 2 singles. Â

Dominic Warzecha played at No. 4 singles, falling 6-4, 6-3, and
Sam Thompson came up a bit short in the No. 5 spot, falling 6-2, 6-4. First year
Elijah Krause rounded out the singles play in the No. 6 spot, falling 6-1, 6-3.

In No. 1 doubles, Robinson and Krause fell 8-3 and Warzecha and Thompson teamed up in the No. 3 slot, falling 8-5.
