OWATONNA, Minn. - In their third MIAC contest of the 2021 season, the Hamline men's tennis team (1-4, 0-3 MIAC) took two sets off St. Olaf (2-2, 2-2 MIAC), but fell 7-2 at Owatonna Tennis Center on Saturday night.

Sam Thompson was involved in two of those wins, teaming up with senior
Nazeer Robinson to win 8-7 (7-3) in No. 1 doubles and also coming away with a 6-3, 6-2 win in No. 4 singles.

In No. 2 doubles, first year
Isaac Hultberg and sophomore
Sean Le paired up, falling 8-3, and first year
Dominic Warzecha and sophomore
Allan Yang played in the No. 3 slot, dropping their match 8-1.

Besides Thompson, Robinson took the most games off his opponent, falling to Spencer Wick 6-2, 6-4 in No. 1 singles. Yang also took multiple games off his Ole opponent, yielding 6-3, 6-2 to Tony Klagge in the No. 6 spot.

Warzecha played at No. 2 for the first time this season, falling 6-1, 6-0 to Michael Yousef and Hultberg played at No. 3, conceding his match 6-1, 6-1 to Henry Smith. Le rounded out the group in the No. 5 spot, being bested by Ethan Bruha 6-0, 6-1.

The Pipers will look to get back in the win column next weekend when they host UW-Superior for a 10:00 a.m. match at Rogers Tennis Club.
