ROGERS, Minn. - The Hamline women's tennis team (1-4, 0-2 MIAC) picked up their first win of the season in impressive fashion, blowing by UW-Superior (2-5) 9-0 at Rogers Tennis Club on Saturday morning.

In doubles, the Pipers gave up only one game in each match, winning 8-1 on all three courts. First year
Elise Bierbaum and junior
Taylor Hopkins paired up at No. 1, first years
Taylor Vyskocil and
Lily Vang played at No. 2, and first year
Jersi McAlpine and senior
Janie Schwartz were in the No. 3 slot.

The singles play was just as dominant, as no one gave up more than two games in a set. Bierbaum was in the No. 1 spot, defeating Chiyono Owa 6-1, 6-0. Vyskocil played at No. 2, winning 6-2, 6-0. At No. 3, Vang took down Olivia Roberts 6-2, 6-1. Hopkins (No. 4), Schwartz (No. 5), and first year
Peyton Buerman (No. 6) each won their match with 6-0, 6-0 decisions.

The Pipers will look to carry that momentum into their next match, when they head to Bethel on Friday, April 9 for a 4:30 p.m. contest.
