MENOMONIE, WIS.—The Hamline University women's volleyball team opened their 2021 campaign with a Wednesday-night match at UW-Stout in Menomonie, Wisconsin. Leading all players was Sydney Larson with 14 kills, Megan Rubbelke with 31 assists, and Jenna Rubbelke with 13 digs for the Pipers. It wasn't enough as the Blue Devils notched a 3-1 victory.
Hamline falls to 0-1 while UW-Stout improves to 1-0.

The Pipers came out of the gates with a .323 hitting percentage in set one en route to a 25-21 victory. The tables turned in favor of UW-Stout as they hovered a .300 hitting percentage in each of the final three sets en route to a 3-1 victory.
Julianna Boyum turned in an impressive outing for Hamline with a .368 hitting mark on nine kills, while Rachel Rettmann was on her heels with eight kills.
Three Blue Devils eclipsed double-digit kills, led by Sidney Hoverman's 13. Elise Bandit and Anna Hansen each tallied 10 for UW-Stout.
The Pipers return to action at the Macalester College Tournament on Saturday, September 4, when they face Coe College at 10:00 a.m., and Bethany Lutheran College at 2:00 p.m.
