SAINT, PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University men's soccer team hosted Minnesota Morris in their final tune-up before MIAC play. Unlike the the opening two games, the Pipers found themselves on the right side of an overtime result as Jared Garcia's penalty kick goal in the 103rd minute propelled Hamline to a 1-0 (2OT) victory over the Cougars.
The Pipers improve to 2-3 overall while Minnesota Morris falls to 0-4.

The Pipers peppered the Cougars for a 15-6 advantage in shots, as the game-winning goal scorer Garcia and Logan Weller each paced Hamline with four shots a piece. Stian Firehammer wasn't far behind with a pair of shots.
Lucas Harmon made two saves in a complete-game goalkeeper effort for Morris, while Luke Rimington tallied two saves in 103 minutes for Hamline.
The Pipers will open MIAC play at Pat Paterson Field against Augsburg on Wednesday, September 15 at 4:00 p.m.
