Box Score SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University volleyball team closed out the two-day St. Paul Tournament with a Saturday-afternoon bout against Buena Vista University at Hutton Arena. The Pipers converted their second-straight sweep, and sixth-consecutive victory with a 3-0 decision over the Beavers.
The Pipers improve to 6-1 while Buena Vista falls to 5-2.
Hamline 3, Buena Vista 0 (25-21, 25-9, 25-18)
It was another day at the office for Sydney Larson and Rachel Rettmann, who each notched 10 kills. Megan Rubbelke paced the Pipers offense in three categories that included aces (four), assists (27), and digs (8) along with seven kills. She engineered a Hamline offense that converted a .310 hitting mark, which included a flawless second set that consisted of just one attack error and 15 kills en route to a .667 percentage.
The Pipers will return to action on Friday, September 17 at the UW-La Crosse Tournament against Wartburg at 3:00 p.m., and UW-Stevens Point at 5:00 p.m.
