Browne's goal occurred from 35 yards out in the 12th minute, which gave Hamline a 1-0 edge. Ku Gay Tha capitalized in the 19th minute, when she possessed the ball and took it down the middle of the field and let a shot go that hit Eagles goalkeeper Ellie Fryer's fingertips before finding the back of the net to make the score 2-0.

Hamline outshot Northwestern 10-6 as Browne pasted a game-high three shots. The Eagles drew the lone two yellow cards of the match courtesy of Amanda Kocurek in the 32nd minute, and Emily Currie in the 52nd minute.
