Royals Come From Behind For a 3-1 Victory Over Pipers

SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University women's soccer team made the short trek to Bethel University in Arden Hills, Minnesota on Saturday afternoon. The Pipers set the tone with a 1-0 lead courtesy of Maya Dempsey's goal in the 25th minute, but the Royals rattled off three unanswered goals en route to a 3-1 victory.

The Pipers fall to 4-3, 1-2 MIAC while Bethel improves to 4-4, 2-1 MIAC.

Cailey Schmitt fired a shot that hit the crossbar before it found it's way to Maya Dempsey's foot to the back of the net, which made the score 1-0 in the 25th minute. The Royals didn't back down as they registered three unanswered goals courtesy of Rachel Waterman (31st minute), Lauren Davis (52nd minute), and Kelsey Bergan (85th minute) en route to a 3-1 victory.

The Pipers held an 18-17 advantage in shots over Bethel as Sydni Thompson, Maya Dempsey, and Emily Hillis each notched a team leading three for Hamline.

Lauren Sicora made seven saves over 90:00 in net for Hamline, while Izzy Smith stopped six shots for Bethel.

Hamline will face UW-Stout in Menomonie, Wisconsin on Wednesday, September 29 at 7:00 p.m.
