SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University men's soccer team hosted Simpson College in a Saturday-afternoon affair at Pat Paterson Field. The Pipers set the tone with a 15th-minute goal from Logan Weller en route to a 1-0 lead that stood until the 89th minute. Simpson knotted the game at 1-1 off Jordy Triana-Vasquez's goal before Ricaro Ibarra gave Simpson a 2-1 victory with a tally in the 92nd minute.
Hamline falls to 0-2 while Simpson improves to 2-0.

Simpson outshot Hamline 18-3. Logan Weller notched a pair of shots while Jake Sullivan contributed one for Hamline. Luke Rimington made six saves in net for the Pipers, while William Kopp stopped two shots.
The Pipers will return to action on Monday, September 6 at Northwestern (Minn.) Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
