The Pipers maintained a 1-0 halftime lead after Alex Rouse notched his first goal of the season in the 18th minute, assisted by Jake Sullivan. The Eagles found the net on two occasions within the final 20:00 as Cole Alfrey converted a header off Justin Ross's pass in the 74th minute to make the score 1-1 before Wesselink's game-winner in the 86th minute.

Both teams notched six shots.
