MINNEAPOLIS, MINN.—The Hamline University volleyball team squared-off against North Central University (Minn.) in a Tuesday-night road bout. The Pipers picked up their third-straight victory with a 3-0 (25-11, 25-10, 25-7) trouncing of the Rams.
Hamline improves to 3-1 overall while North Central falls to 2-2.

The Pipers, who finished the game with a .348 hitting mark, held North Central to a .000 hitting percentage or less in each of the three sets en route to victory. Rachel Rettmann had a lot to do with that as she led all players with 12 kills on a .476 hitting mark, while Julianna Boyum was also efficient with a .462 hitting percentage that included eight kills. Megan Rubbelke set them up with 27 assists along with a team-high 16 digs. Maggie Gavic and Jenna Rubbelke each turned in impressive defensive performances with 12 and 10 digs, respectively. Brynn Hendrickson was impressive at the net with four assisted blocks for Hamline.
The Pipers will return to action on Friday, September 10 when they host day one of the St. Paul Tournament. They are set to host Whitman College at 3:00 p.m., and Luther College at 7:00 p.m. at Hutton Arena. Whitman and Luther will square-off at Hutton Arena at 5:00 p.m. that day.
