The Pipers didn't grab their first lead of the game until Jake Veldman's three-pointer made the score 26-24 with 3:45 left in the opening frame. Three more leads changes occurred in the contest, as the final one was off Veldman's layup with 8:48 left in the second half, which gave the Pipers a 44-42 advantage, and wouldn't trail again in a 71-62 victory.

Berg nailed all 11 of his free throws, and shot 9-of-13 from the field that included a trio of three-pointers. Veldman and Conner Krenos each added nine points for a Hamline squad that shot a season-high .477 (21-of-44) from the field.

Gabriel Ramos notched a double-double 14 points and 10 boards for Macalester.

The Pipers will host Bethel at Hutton Arena on Wednesday, January 19 at 7 p.m.
