NORTHFIELD, MINN.—The Hamline University men's track & field team's second indoor meet of the season pitted them at the Carleton Triangular on Friday night. The Pipers claimed third place out of three teams with 89 points. St. Olaf claimed the team title with 287.5 points, while Carleton took second place with 119.5 points.
Joshua Thomsen's amazing beginning to his collegiate career continued, as he registered a first-place time of 22.92 in the 200 meter dash. He kept the first-place trend going in the 55 meter hurdles with a 7.80.
Gold continued to roll in for the Pipers, as Christian Velishek captured the high jump title with a 1.85m, while Michael Braun also achieved a 1.85m on more attempts. Braun took sole possession of first place in the long jump with a 6.32m. The pole vault saw Josh Lynch take second place with a 4.27m.
Lucas Doyle commanded the Pipers in the weight throw with a first-place toss of 15.21m.
The Pipers will compete at the Minnesota State-Mankato Mark Schuck Open and Multi on Friday, January 28 - Saturday, January 29.
