MANKATO, MINN.—The Hamline University men's and women's track & field teams competed on day one of the MSU-Mankato Mark Shuck Open and Multi on Friday night. The Pipers men sit in ninth place with seven points, while the women sit in 15th place with one point.
Raul Ortiz led the men in the 300 meter dash with a time of 1:12.83, good enough for fifth place. Joshua Thomsen continued his dominate ways with a sixth-place time of 36.56 in the 300 meter dash.
The women were highlighted by Aoife Zamacona in the pentathlon with 2442 points, good enough for eighth place. Ellie Logelin tallied an 11th-place time of 44.87 in the 300 meter dash, while Libby Roberdeau led the distance group in 23rd place with a 11:49.77 in the 3000 meter run.
The Pipers will compete on day two of the MSU-Mankato Mark Shuck Open and Multi tomorrow, Saturday, January 29.
