SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University men's basketball team hosted first-year MIAC member St. Scholastica at Hutton Arena on Wednesday night. After trailing all but the opening minute of the first half, the Pipers prevailed in the second half en route to a 62-56 victory over the Saints.
Hamline improves to 5-7, 2-4 MIAC, while St. Scholastica falls to 1-9, 0-6 MIAC.

The Pipers attempted just one free throw in the contest, and failed to convert it. It marked the least free throw attempts in a game within the last 11 seasons for Hamline. That didn't matter, as Hamline shot lights out in the second half with a .552Â (16-29) mark, and held the Saints to a dismal .294 (10-34) figure within the final 20:00 to secure a 62-56 victory.
Cooper Berg paced Hamline with a team-best 15 points off a trio of three-pointers. Conner Krenos and Jake Larson each tallied 10 points. Larson added three steals, three assists, and eight boards to his stat line. Bradley Cimperman added nine points, while Tait Nelson tallied eight.
The Pipers finished the game .459 (28-61) shooting against St. Scholastica's .361 (22-61) mark.
Hamline will travel to Gustavus Adolphus on Saturday, January 8 for a 1 p.m. game time.
