SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University women's soccer team made the short trek down Snelling Ave. to face Macalester on Saturday afternoon. The Pipers converted just two shots on goal, but one of them found the back of the net in a 2-1 loss to the Scots.

Hamline falls to 2-4-4, 1-3-1 MIAC, while Macalester improves to 7-2-3, 3-1-1 MIAC.

Both Macalester goals occurred in the opening half courtesy of Mia Brisbin in the 18th minute, and Gaby Valle in the 32nd minute en route to a 2-0 lead. The Pipers mustered a shot in each half, and Maya Dempsey did the honors with her second goal of the season in the 75th minute that narrowed the score to 2-1.

Macalester out shot Hamline 15-2. Lauren Sicora came through with eight saves in net for the Pipers, while her counterpart Jocelyn Radke recorded one save in the goalkeeping victory for the Scots.

Hamline will return to action on Monday, October 3 at Northwestern (Minn.) for a 7 p.m. game time.
