NORTHFIELD, MINN.—The Hamline University women's soccer team embarked on a Wednesday-afternoon bout at first-place Carleton, where they dropped a 1-0 decision.
The Pipers fall to 3-6-4, 1-5-1 MIAC, while the Knights stay undefeated in conference play with an 11-1, 7-0 MIAC mark.
Carleton 1, Hamline 0
Both teams went into intermission with a 0-0 score despite Carleton's 18-1 lead in shots. The Knights converted a goal on their 26th shot attempt in the 52nd minute, when Cate Peterson sailed a cross into the box. Casey MacVeagh was there to convert her eighth goal of the season en route to a 1-0 score.
Carleton out shot Hamline 37-1, but only nine of them were on goal. Lauren Sicora made eight saves in net for the Pipers, while Keya Mookencherry didn't record a stop in the goalkeeping win for the Knights.
Hamline will host Saint Benedict at Pat Paterson Field on Saturday, October 15 at 1 p.m.
