SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University women's soccer team hosted Saint Benedict in a Saturday-afternoon MIAC bout at Pat Paterson Field, where they dropped a 2-0 decision.
The Pipers fall to 3-7-4, 1-6-1 MIAC, while the Bennies improve to 10-4, 6-2 MIAC.

Erica Golenzer wasted no time as she converted her team's first shot of the game in the third minute, which made the score 1-0. The Pipers were able to maintain their one-goal deficit throughout a majority of the game despite Saint Benedict's significant advantage in shots. Addison Stephani was able to widen the Bennies' lead to 2-0 with a goal in the 76th minute.
Saint Benedict out shot Hamline 24-7. Maya Dempsey and Sydni Thompson each tallied two shots for Hamline. Lauren Sicora got the goalkeeping start for the Pipers, and made four saves over 30:40 of work before Ava Braun stopped eight shots throughout 59:20 of action. Bennies goalkeeper Paige Kahlmeyer made five saves.
The Pipers will travel to Saint Mary's (Minn.) on Saturday, October 22 for a 1 p.m. match.
