INDIVIDUAL POINTS
SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University men's and women's swimming & diving teams opened their 2022-23 seasons at the St. Catherine Pentathlon on Saturday. The women took fourth place out of four teams with 25 points, while the men didn't record a team score.
The women were led by Sarah Wood, who was the top Hamline scorer with 14 points en route to 16th place. Her score was highlighted by a fifth-place time of 1:13.08 in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Sila Yurttas was also impressive in the 100-yard IM, where she notched a 10th-place time of 1:07.04.
The men were led by George Hubbard's trio of first-place finishes in the 100-yard backstroke (55.03), 100-yard freestyle (49.14), and the 100-yard IM (56.49). Hubbard's performance secured him fifth place out of 24 competitors with 60 points, primarily against Saint John's.
The Pipers will host the Hamline Relay at the Bush Center Pool on Saturday, October 22 at 11 a.m.
