Hamline 90 Bethel 77
The Pipers hot shooting night started early, making their first three shots from the field and continuing it making 54% of their shots in the opening half. Despite the hot shooting, the Pipers struggled to break away from Bethel for most of the first half as the Royals did enough to match with their own shooting. A late push to end the half did allow the Pipers to extend the lead out 46-36 at the break. Hamline only built off of that in the second half pushing the lead to as much as 18 as they controlled the whole second half with a double-digit lead. The Pipers finished the game an impressive 13-32 from three point range.
Daniel McCarrell led the way for the Pipers putting up 23 points making six three pointers and adding five assists,
Bradley Cimperman was right alongside him scoring 22 points.
Austin Holt also filled the stat sheet for Hamline scoring 19 points, grabbing nine rebounds, dished out seven assists and finished with three steals and two blocks.
Mick Wherley also added 14 points of his own.
For Bethel Payton Thomsen led all scorers with 29 points. Zach Dooley and Avery Mast also were in double figures for the Royals scoring 14 and 13 points.
The Pipers will be in action next on Saturday when they host St. Olaf at 1 p.m. at Hutton Arena
