DAY THREE TEAM RESULTS
SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University swimming & diving teams embarked on day three of the 2022 MIAC Swimming & Diving Championship at the University of Minnesota on Friday. The Piper women sit seventh place out of nine teams with 105 points, while the men are in sixth place out of six teams with 45 points.
Sarah Wood dominated on the women's side with a sixth-place time of 1:08.23 in the 100 yard breaststroke. Sila Yurttas also qualified for finals, as she claimed 15th place in the 400 yard IM with a 4:54.16. Bennett Nigro was also solid for the women with a 16th-place time of 1:13.58 in the 100 yard breaststroke.
The 200 yard freestyle relay team of Tina Liu, Yurttas, Sydney McCutchen, and Morgan Schrader tallied ninth place with a 1:46.93.
George Hubbard continued his dominating ways for the men with a fifth-place time of 1:43.23 in the 200 yard freestyle. Quinn Doan kept the momentum going in the 100 yard butterfly, where he notched ninth place with a 52.83. Nathan Steeves captured 15th place in the 200 yard freestyle with a 1:53.22.
The Pipers will embark on day four of the MIAC Championship tomorrow, Saturday, February 19 at 10:30 a.m. / 6:30 p.m.
