ST. PAUL, MINN- The Hamline University men's basketball team had their sights set on a big time win as they welcomed a 14-4 Carleton team to Hutton Arena Wednesday night. Behind a strong 25 points from senior Cooper Berg, the Pipers did just that coming out on top 65-58.
The win improves the Pipers' record to 9-13, 7-10 MIAC, while the Knights take a hit down to 14-5, 11-4 MIAC.

The Pipers were propelled early by Berg as he hit his first six attempts from three-point range and the Pipers grew their lead to as much as 11 in the first half. The Knights managed to get the lead down to seven at the break as Berg stacked up 22 points in the half.
The Pipers were able to hold off multiple second-half pushes by Carleton when the Knights cut it to 43-41 early in the period. The Knights were also able to cut an 11-point game down to 62-58 with one minute to go before Hamline closed in on the victory.
Cooper Berg added six boards to go with his game-high 25 points, he was helped by 12 points from Bradley Cimperman and 11 from Jake Veldman with three made three-pointers.
Jeremy Beckler was the leader for the Knights with 24 points on the night, while Luke Harris added 11 points.
The Pipers will return to action at home Monday, February 14 when they host Gustavus Adolphus at 7:45 p.m.
