ORLANDO, FLA.—The Hamline University men's tennis team opened their spring break trip with a match against Franciscan in Orlando, Florida on Monday night. The Pipers dropped a 7-2 decision to the Barons.
Hamline falls to 1-5, while Franciscan improves to 3-3.
"Match played on clay under the lights at National Tennis Center," said Pipers head tennis coach Spencer Jones. "Great fight from our men as captain Sean Le was a standout."

The doubles flight resulted in one victory for the Pipers, as Sean Le/Surprise Taylor came through with an 8-7, 7-5 victory in the No. 3 spot. The singles flight also saw Hamline claim one victory, as Elijah Krause prevailed in a hard-fought 6-4, 1-6, 10-3 decision in the No. 4 position. Another match went to an extra set, as Sean Le dropped a nail-biting 5-6, 6-3, 7-10 score in No. 5 singles.
The Pipers will face Springfield in Orlando, Florida on Tuesday, March 15 at 11:30 a.m. (ET).
