SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University men's tennis team welcomed St. Olaf to InnerCity Tennis for a Thursday-afternoon dual. The Pipers dropped a 7-2 decision to the Oles.
Hamline falls to 4-10, 1-4 MIAC, while St. Olaf improves to 5-4, 3-2 MIAC.

An tie-breaker occurred at No. 1 doubles, where Sam Thompson/Isaac Hultberg squeezed an 8-7 decision. No. 3 doubles went down to the wire, where Tate Johanning/Surprise Taylor dropped a nail-biting 8-6 score. No. 2 doubles resulted in an 8-3 loss for Nazeer Robinson/Sean Le.
Sam Thompson picked up the lone Pipers' victory in the singles flight, as he prevailed with a 6-2, 6-3 decision at the No. 2 position. Three-of-six singles matches went into an extra set. Nazeer Robinson came up short in a 6-4, 2-6, 10-6Â match at the No. 1 position. Isaac Hultberg fell 1-6, 6-4, 15-13 at No. 3 singles, while Johanning was on the wrong end of a 2-6, 6-1, 10-2 score at the No. 5 spot.
The Pipers will travel to Macalester on Thursday, April 21 for a 5 p.m. match.
