SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The 2022 season opener pitted the Hamline University women's soccer team at Pat Paterson Field against WIAC foe UW-Stout on Thursday evening. The game's first shot found the back of the net courtesy of Caylee Boone, who flicked one from 20 yards out 3:11 into the contest to give Stout a 1-0 edge. Carin Currier closed the game's scoring with a shot from 35 yards back to give Hamline a 2-1 edge.

The Pipers outshot UW-Stout 17-15. Lauren Sicora played the first 45:00 in net for Hamline, before Ava Braun came in for the final 45:00. The duo combined for three saves, while Julie McNamar stopped four shots for the Blue Devils.

The Pipers will travel to UW-Superior on Sunday, September 4. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
