Fifth Place in the Cards at Hamline Invite

SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The 2022 Hamline Invitational was upon the Pipers women's cross country team at the Highland 9 Golf Course in Saint Paul on Friday, where they registered fifth place out of 10 teams with 149 points. Carleton took home the team crown with 24 points. Fiona Smith (Saint Benedict) registered the individual title with a 20:11.3.

Alexandra Maddux led the Pipers with an 11th-place time of 23:06.2. Next was Miranda Kerndt, who took 28th place with a 24:07.0. Libby Roberdeau crossed the finish line at 25:03.4, good enough for 45th place. Freshman Daniela Sanchez-Castillo came through in 59th place with a mark of 25:53.1. Aspen Clarksean prevailed with a 66th-place time of 26:06.0. Abby Tapajna rounded out the top-seven Pipers in 80th place with a 26:29.3. Jalisa Matthews-Schmidt (26:36.7), Klaire Petersen (27:17.7), Katie Danielzuk (28:27.1), and Charlotte Adams (29:13.6) rounded out the Hamline finishers.

The Pipers will return to action on Saturday, September 24, when they will compete at the UW-Platteville Pioneer Invite at 10:32:40 a.m.
