MINNEAPOLIS, MINN.—The Hamline University men's soccer team opened the MIAC portion of their 2022 slate with a Tuesday-night bout at Augsburg, who rolled to a 4-0 victory on their home field.
Hamline falls to 2-3, 0-1 MIAC, while Augsburg stays unbeaten at 4-0-1, 1-0 MIAC.

Nick Zuchowski was all over the score sheet for the Auggies. He set the tone to his two-goal game with a strike from 23 yards out on the right side in the 23rd minute, which gave his team a 1-0 lead over the Pipers. Tomas Piza made things 2-0 0:22 later off a feed from Jorge Radilla. Zuchowski's second goal of the contest came via the penalty kick in the 32nd minute to widen the margin to 3-0, before Jeffrey Richter closed the game's scoring with a goal in the 34th minute to make the score 4-0.
Hamline weathered the storm over the final 45:00, where they held Augsburg to no scoring and just four shots. The Auggies held a 16-4 shots advantage over the Pipers, who were victims of three-of-four yellow cards called in the contest.
Pipers goalkeeper Luke Rimington made four saves in the complete-game effort, while his counterpart Oscar Herrera stopped one shot in the win for Augsburg.
Hamline will host St. Olaf at Pat Paterson Field on Saturday, September 17 at 3:30 p.m.
