DAVENPORT, IOWA—The Hamline University men's tennis team opened their 2022-23 season with a road bout at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. Multiple Pipers picked up their first collegiate victories, but it wasn't enough in a 5-4 loss to the Fighting Bees.
Hamline begins the season 0-1, while St. Ambrose improves to 5-1.

Tyler Rousslang came through with his first collegiate doubles victory with an 8-4 decision at the No. 3 position with Surprise Taylor. The Pipers exited the doubles flight with a 2-1 lead, as Sam Thompson/Sean Le registered an 8-2 win in the No. 2 slot.
Taylor's first collegiate singles victory occurred in a nail-bitter at No. 6, where he notched a 4-6, 7-6, 1-0 decision. The bottom half of the Pipers lineup continued to prevail, as Sean Le was victorious in the No. 5 position with a 6-3, 6-4 thumping.
The Pipers will return to action tomorrow, Sunday, September 18 at Dubuque. Start time is set for 11 a.m.
