DUBUQUE, IOWA—The Hamline University men's tennis team picked up their first victory of the 2022-23 campaign with a 6-3 decision at Dubuque on Sunday. The Pipers improve to 1-1, while the Spartans fall to 0-2.

The Pipers tallied a 2-1 lead after the doubles flight. Sam Thompson/Sean Le prevailed at the No. 2 doubles spot with an 8-6 victory, while Tyler Rousslang/Surprise Taylor registered an 8-3 win at the No. 3 position.
The middle portion of Hamline's singles lineup carried them to victory. The No. 2 position saw Isaac Hultberg win 6-2, 6-3. Elijah Krause took care of business at No. 3Â singles with a 6-4, 6-4 domination. Tyler Rousslang continued his strong rookie season as he notched a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 4, before Sean Le clinched the 6-3 win for Hamline at No. 5 with a 6-3, 6-4 decision.
The Pipers will host Bethany Lutheran at Washington Tech High School on Saturday, September 24 at 11 a.m.
