SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University men's tennis team's 2021-22 home opener pitted them against Bethany Lutheran at Washington Tech High School on Saturday morning. The Pipers came through with a 7-2 victory over the Vikings.

The No. 2 and No. 3 doubles positions prevailed for the Pipers. Tyler Rousslang/Sean Le took care of business 8-3 at No. 2, while Surprise Taylor/Tate Johanning were victorious 8-1 at the No. 3 position.
Hamline sealed wins in five-of-six singles matches. Surprise Taylor won the clincher at No. 5 with a 6-1, 6-1 decision. Tyler Rousslang won a nail-bitter at No. 3 singles with a 6-1, 6-4 ousting. The No. 2 spot saw Isaac Hultberg register a 6-2, 6-4 victory, while Sean Le was effective with a 6-0, 6-0 thrashing at No. 4. Tate Johanning sealed a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 6
The Pipers will open MIAC play against Carleton tomorrow, Sunday, September 25 at Washington Tech High School. Match time is set for 11 a.m.
