SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University women's soccer team hosted Bethel at Pat Paterson Field on Saturday afternoon for 2022 Homecoming Weekend. Sydni Thompson converted her first collegiate goal in the 67th minute to narrow Hamline's deficit to 2-1, where things stayed final.

Hamline falls to 1-3-4, 0-2-1 MIAC, while Bethel ups their record to 3-3-1, 1-1 MIAC.

Goals from Malia Beilby in the 38th minute, and Sonia Meyer in the 57th minute gave the Royals a 2-0 lead. Thompson's first collegiate goal in the 67th minute wasn't enough to generate more momentum for the Pipers, as they dropped a 2-1 decision.

Maya Dempsey led the Pipers with three shots in the contest. Bethel out shot Hamline 18-11, as Beilby came through with a game-high six shots for the Royals. Lauren Sicora made seven saves in the complete-game loss in net for Hamline, while Izzy Smith stopped three shots in the winning effort between the pipes for Bethel.

The Pipers will make the short trek to St. Catherine on Tuesday, September 27 for a 4 p.m. game.
