SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University men's soccer team embarked on a four-hour trip southbound to Simpson for a Tuesday-evening non-conference match. All four goals occurred in the first half, where Simpson held on for a 3-1 victory over the Pipers.

Hamline falls to 2-7, while Simpson improves to 8-2.

The Storm's lone blunder in the contest occurred in the seventh minute, when they spotted Hamline a 1-0 lead with an own goal. It didn't faze them as goals from Jack Lammers in the 11th minute, Baraka Ellie in the 27th, and Spencer Young in the 45th sealed a 3-1 victory for Simpson.

Each team was assessed a yellow card in the contest. The Storm nearly doubled the Pipers in shots with a 17-9 edge. Robert Cooper, Belal Elghorab, and Nate Vogel each tallied a pair of shots for Hamline.

Pipers goalkeeper Ethan Schauer made five saves in a complete-game loss, while Kegan Trebilcock and Arya Nowroozi combined to make two saves for Simpson.

The Pipers will head down the road to Macalester on Saturday, October 1. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.
