SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University men's soccer team squared-off against Crown in a Tuesday-afternoon affair at Pat Paterson Field. Early goals from Logan Weller in the fourth minute, and Jake Sullivan in the seventh minute was all the Pipers needed in a 2-0 shutout over the Polars.
Hamline's first victory of the 2022 season gives them a 1-2 record, while the Polars fall to 0-2.
Hamline 2, Crown 0
The Pipers maintained momentum from the early-game goals as they proceeded to outshoot Crown 24-7 in the match. Weller and Sullivan each picked up three-point games as they assisted on each other's goals. Adam Yazbeck was also credited with a second assist on Sullivan's goal.
Hamline goalie Luke Rimington made two saves in the complete-game shutout, while his counterpart Leo Roque stopped seven shots for Crown.
The Pipers will travel to Minnesota Morris for a non-conference match on Saturday, September 10 at 2 p.m.
