Hamline managed four goals despite being out shot 49-14. Hamline's second and third shots of the game resulted in goals behind Kohl Hedquist at 6:23 of the first period that made the score 1-0, and Andrew Erwin's power-play tally at 7:07 that pushed things to 2-0. It took the Johnnies nine shots before they found the back of the net as Lewis Crosby's power-play goal at 17:40 of the first cut their deficit to 2-1.

Jordon Halverson put the finishing touches on Hamline's 2-for-3 night on the power play with his third goal of the season at 9:36 of the second period, which widened the score to 3-1. The Johnnies peppered Hamline for a 26-2 shots advantage in the third period, and played the final five minutes with the extra attacker. It didn't pay dividends, as Hamline's Sam Dabrowski widened the margin to 4-1 at 5:42 of the frame.

Bailey Huber made 10 saves in net for Saint John's.

The Pipers will travel to St. Scholastica on Friday, January 27 for a 7 p.m. game.
